No impressive entrance and no red carpet. The simple front of the "Oude Houtlei" reveals no signs of the old, modest convent: PoortAckere. "An island, lost in the whirlpool of a tumultuous city". Monasterium PoortAckere has two types of accommodation: hotel rooms with three star facilities in "De Maagdenvleugel", "Het Breedhuis" and "Het huis van de Rector".
